2. More than 200 years ago the first Black Sea Cossacks arrived on the banks of the Kuban River. Now the Kuban Land is a beautiful area of the Russian Federation. People of many nationalities are happy to live here and thousands of tourists enjoy visiting its sights. We are looking forward to the Olympic Games In Sochi and say, “Welcome to Kuban!”

4. I live in Krasnodar. It‘s the capital of Kuban. There’re many historical buildings and monuments, museums, theatres, green parks and sport centers. I like going to the city centre. Krasnaya Street is colourful in any season. It’s a special place to meet. At weekends we may ride a bike, skateboard or rollerskate ! My hobby is taking pictures, there are 100 photos of my home city in my collection. People are really friendly here. It is a safe place to live in.

5. The most interesting attraction for me is the Zoo. When I first came there, I was very excited, because I am interested in wildlife. I’d like to be a vet. I have some pets, but watching wild animals is more interesting. Zhuzha the hippo is my favourite in the Zoo. It’s a huge creature. Come at 12 o’clock and you can feed some animals. There are hundreds of wild animals in the Zoo and they have large cages, they look healthy and friendly. I love watching performances where dolphins and seals dance and do tricks. Sometimes I go to the circus or aqarium. It’s never boring in my city, teenagers have a lot to do and enjoy after school !

6. Do you love folk music? Buy a ticket and enjoy colourful costumes, wonderful songs and dances of talented artists. The Choir is directed by a world famous conductor Victor Zakharchenko. They sing old and modern songs. They give concerts in Krasnodar, in Russia and abroad. Do you like classical music? People can watch an opera, a ballet, a play or a concert. There’s a symphony orchestra and a jazz band. Krasnodar’s a musical capital, it’s great!

7. Last weekend I went to Sochi. Sochi’s a beautiful sunny town on the Black Sea coast. Every summer a lot of people spend their holidays there. Sochi is famous for its warm weather, beautiful landscapes, holiday resorts and golden beaches. There are so many comfortable hotels where you can stay. Swimming and and sunbathing, boating and diving, fishing and mountain climbing is fantastic! In the evening the streets are bright, street cafes and restaurants are open. You can see lots of exotic plants in Dendrary, a park park where trees and flowers from many countries o countries grow. In winter Krasnaya Polyana attra atttracts skiers and hunters. In 2014 Sochi will be be an Olympic city. I believe Sochi’s the ideal choice for everybody.

8. I was born in Anapa. My grandparents live in this town. I spend my summer holidays at my Granny and Grandpa’s house. The house is far from the center but it has a big garden with nice flowers and fruit trees. Apples, cherries, pears and plums, nuts and watermelons are so ripe! The warm sea, hot summer sun make children strong and healthy. They swim, make sandcastles, play water sports. Come and you ‘ll love it!

9. My hobby’s History. I have gone on a dig three times, I’m fond of archeology and During the school year I dream of going to Taman again! Everybody wants to discover some unknown facts about ancient people, to have interesting findings or to dig some unusual fossils. It’s the best place for boys and girls who love History. Every summer lots of students from Moscow, Rostov and Volgograd come on a dig. I met new friends. They are clever and we have a lot of fun together. I think Taman’s the most interesting place for summer holidays!

10. You will travel the world over, but you will not find the area more beautiful than Kuban…
