3. Portfolio Review Recommendation 1 – To retain BSc (Hons) Sociology subject to two conditions: Recommendation 2 - To withdraw the MSc Social and Education Research and MSc Social Research. Also to withdraw the MSc Social Research Methods in so far as is consistent with the University needs for social research training for post graduate research students. Recommendation 3 - To retain the Sociology minor pathway in conjunction with Psychology and with Criminology and Criminal Justice Studies. Recommendation 4 - To retain Politics major programmes and review recruitment, sustainability, quality and outcomes in September 2016. This proposed amendment is contingent on the adoption of Recommendation 6 in order to ensure sustainability of the subject. Recommendation 5 - To retain the Politics minor programme in conjunction with History, International Relations and Economics but withdraw the minor pathway with Criminology and Criminal Justice Studies. Recommendation 6 - To close the Elections Centre. Recommendation 7 - To withdraw the BSc (Hons) Public Services top up. Recommendation 8 - To retain the BSc (Hons) Public Services (Policing) and seek to incorporate it with BSc (Hons) Police and Criminal Justice Studies. Recommendation 9 - To close the School of Government and merge programmes of the School of Government into the School of Law. Recommendation 10 - To merge the postgraduate School of Management with the undergraduate Plymouth Business School.

4. Portfolio Review The UCU Branch Executive believe that: – dialogue is now needed on several important issues arising from it – decisions resulting from it should be postponed pending creation of the new Senate
