McDonald’s has targeted children in the form of toys, fun characters, and playgrounds. As stated in document A, McDonalds created the happy meal with a toy, Ronald’s fun friends, and their playgrounds to entice children to eat their food. This sleazy persuasive tactic is immoral because they created generations of adult who grew up feasting on fast food. Document C states that new healthier options are being offered as kid’s meal sides. However, the main course of the meal remains the same unhealthy, processed food option. As you can see, McDonalds would even stoop to a child’s level to brainwash taste buds to crave their product.

Turning Evidence into an Argument Argument is expressing a point of view on a subject using evidence. It is your interpretation of a set of information (evidence). Make your point! Use strong vocabulary. Avoid summarizing the evidence. The word “argument” does not have to be written anywhere in your assignment. In other words, avoid saying you are making an argument – just do it. Remember to avoid using any personal pronouns. Think of it like the closing statements an attorney uses once all evidence in a case has been presented.
12
Closing First sentence should be STRONG Restate your thesis Drive HOME your argument.

Closing Example Success at the expense of others is truly a failure. McDonald’s has been failing with the fact that they have increased the promotions towards children, increase the fat in their food, and increased the portion size to make a profit. Similar to a drug dealer, McDonald’s should be accountable since they have been dealing their edible drug for over 50 years. Even though they have attempted to correct some of their past mistakes today in the form of healthier options, posted nutritional value, and smaller portion sizes, their company will never truly be a success when they have failed society for so long.
