1
Development of plushouses in Oslo Municipality 30.03.2016 Flemming Idsøe
2
About Omsorgsbygg Priorities Status update The road forward
4
Omsorgsbyggs priorities Comfort, health, and working environment Energy efficiency Direct pollution from construction sites Climate gas emmissions from – Materials – Construction site – End of life
5
Status update
7
Kindergartens = ok, BUT – Passivehouse with PV – Identify cost optimal solutions – Development of knowledge for spillover to other building typology – Potential to compensate for climategas emmissions from materials and construction (ZEB-COM)
8
Example nursing home Hovseterhjemmet – BRA = 14150 m 2 – Roof area = 1728 m 2 – Delivered energy: 95,1 kWh/m 2 yr, total= 1345995 kWh – Typical roof BAPV 5032 modules @ 345 W p = 8051 m 2 Conclusion = passivehouse with PV not feasible
9
Status update 24/7 operations means increased energy usage Cost optimalisation of heating demand Optimal design of heating systems Better use of thermal mass – Acoustics – Cleaning
10
Status update Reducing air volumes Use of displacement ventilation systems Use of hybrid ventilation systems Enough space for air transportation Optimal lighting control and increased use of daylighting
11
Status RES PV – Some experience already, 3 systems in operation, many more in design pase – Still an immature market, but improving 2014: 14,15 kr/Wp 2016: 12,57 kr/Wp Lower installation costs Better data on solar radiation (collaboration with scientific researchers) – Potential challenges on load/production mismatch (collaboration with scientific researchers) CHP – Lack of developed LBG market – Pilot being planned Combination PV and CHP may give good production profile over the year
13
The way forward Develop knowledge on plushouse methodology for 24/7 operations Closer cooperation with infrastructure power and district heating – Load/production profiles Closer cooperation with user – Comfort, cleanliness, and beleilighet – Better understanding of user behaviour – A building that works well (technologically) – A building that makes me happy (design/meaning) – A building that is easy to use (knowledge)
14
The way forward Cooperation with scientific research – Resource center on plushouse Provide knowledge to all projects in Oslo Transfer of knowledge between projects and entities Production of new knowledge Monitoring and validation of building performance (energy, comfort, health, and working environment) More time for early design phase – Use of integrated energy design – More detailed design earlier
