ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY The Magnet Program is an excellent opportunity for students to receive instruction in the area of Math/Science and Visual/Performing Arts. There will be a no tolerance policy toward behavior, absenteeism and tardiness that breaks NSCHS and Fulton County guidelines. If you are unsure as to any of these policies, please refer to the Fulton County website under Parents – Discipline – Code of Conduct. Students are subject to dismissal from the program due to inappropriate behavior, excessive disruptions, fighting or blatant disrespect, excessive absenteeism and tardiness. The student will be sent back to their zoned school if they are dismissed.
10
Probation & Dismissal Probation/ Dismissal - At the end of each semester students must obtain a grade average of 85% or higher (in Math/Science Courses) and a grade average of 80% or higher (in Visual/Performing Arts Courses). If these averages are not maintained, the student will be placed on Magnet probation. A second semester of Math/Science GPA lower than 85% and Visual/Performing GPA lower than a 80% will result in being dismissed from the Magnet Program. If North Springs is not the students zoned school, they will be sent back to their zoned school.

TRANSPORTATION Transportation is provided to all students living in the NSCHS attendance zone. Fulton County residents who live outside the NSCHS attendance zone may also receive access to transportation in the following situations only: Dual Magnet students—transportation provided from each student’s home school. Single Magnet Students—transportation is provided to North Fulton County students. Since similar single magnet programs are offered at Westlake HS (Math/Science) and Tri-Cities HS (Visual/Performing Arts), Fulton County will not provide transportation to students who live in South Fulton County as a single magnet student.
