Have you ever found out you were wrong about something you had claimed or argued about? What was the situation? What were you wrong about?
3
How did it feel when you realized you were wrong? What was it like to admit to others (or to God) that you were wrong?
4
Job and his friends thought they were right, and argued their case. In today’s lesson we will see what happened when God set them all straight!

We Confess and Repent When We Realize We Were Wrong Job 42:1-6
10
Job’s realization of how great God is demonstrates the fact that God is the Sovereign Lord of all.
11
We Confess and Repent When We Realize We Were Wrong Job replied to God, stating that he realized God was in control, and would accomplish His plan. As Job found himself confronted by God’s presence and truth, he saw how foolhardy he had been.
12
We can ask God to teach us when facing difficult times, and confess when we are wrong. How should we respond to painful times? How did Job misunderstand God?
13
We Make Things Right With Those We Hurt and Forgive Those Who Hurt Us Job 42:7-9
14
As a special creation of God, we all are accountable to Him.
15
We Make Things Right With Those We Hurt and Forgive Those Who Hurt Us Job continued the pattern of restoration. God had first forgiven Job for his foolish requests. Then it was Job’s turn to participate in the forgiveness and restoration of his friends.
16
We should seek to reconcile and restore broken relationships, and to forgive those who hurt us. Why is it important to seek forgiveness from those whom we have wronged? Why is it important to forgive those who have wronged us?
17
God Restores When We Repent Job 42:10-17
18
God Restores When We Repent We are not guaranteed that God will restore our health while here on earth, or bless us materially as He did Job. We are, however, promised God’s presence, love, and grace for whatever we go through.
19
Praise and live for God for sending His Son to restore your relationship with Him, and for blessing you. Why can we say we are blessed, even if our life has been very difficult? How can Job’s experience help us when we go through difficult times?
20
What do we learn about God from Job’s experience? What do we learn about trials and difficulties from Job’s experience? How can we respond to trials and difficulties in a way that brings glory to God?
