The result will be a stronger, more competitive company
6
The object of Quality Improvement is to make use of brainpower, creativity and work experience of the entire workforce to create an unbeatable organization in its marketplace.
7
How does the Members 1 st Program work? All full-time and part-time associates as well as co-ops, interns, and summer/seasonal may participate in the program. Participation is voluntary. You may submit a suggestion at any time.
8
How are suggestions submitted? Click on the Members 1 st RSVP Bright Idea shortcut found on the InfoCenter Use the Members 1 st RSVP Bright Idea Solution board
9
To be valid, the suggestion must provide one of the following: Cost Savings/Cost avoidance Improved market share Improved member satisfaction Improved quality Improved process performance Improved safety/ergonomics Improved elements of work, i.e., productivity
10
What is NOT a valid suggestion? When subjects are related to compensation, benefits, personnel issues, working conditions, rates and fees When the idea is a complaint without a solution When the submission is a repeat idea
11
What is NOT a valid suggestion? When the idea is submitted anonymously When the idea is not feasible When the submission is already expected from the associate as part of his/her job duties or required by policy If your suggestion is not valid, you will be notified as to why.
12
What happens after a suggestion is submitted? The Program Coordinator (PC) will acknowledge receiving your idea (within 2 days) and verify that your suggestion is valid. The PC will forward your idea to an Idea Evaluator (usually your manager/supervisor)
13
What happens after a suggestion is submitted? YOU receive 15 Bright Idea points if your suggestion is valid The Idea Evaluator receives 5 points for each idea evaluated
14
What happens next? An Implementer will be assigned to help implement your idea. Implemented ideas earn 5 more points for you and 10 points for the Implementer. You can be the one to earn those 10 points by implementing an idea yourself through your supervisor.
15
Every time an idea is implemented, we will post the names of the idea’s submitter, evaluator and implementer on the Members 1 st RSVP Bright Idea scoreboard website on the InfoCenter.
16
When we implement 10 ideas, each person listed on the scoreboard will receive a scratch-off card. We’ll also choose five associates at random to spin the Wheel of Prizes.
17
What are Bright Idea points? Redeem your Bright Idea points for gifts from the Award of Excellence catalog. Bright Idea points never expire (unless terminated from employment). Redeem your points immediately or save them up for a higher level gift.
18
What is a Scratch-off Card? Scratch-off cards allow you to win even more points. Scratch off the seal on the card to see how many more points you have received.
19
Wait … there are more ways to earn points!
20
Earn more points with Tangible Cost Saving ideas… You may earn more points if your idea generates a tangible cost savings (TCS). TCS ideas that save more than $10,000 annually will earn additional points for the submitter, evaluator and implementer.
21
Every six months, the program steering team will add up the total savings of all $10,000+ TCS ideas. 10% of this amount will be awarded on a share and share alike basis in points to every associate, evaluator and implementer of one of these ideas during the six month period.
22
Make your average turn-time to accept or reject an idea 7 days or less and you earn 50 points per quarter. Evaluate the most TCS ideas during a six month period and earn 100 points. Evaluate the most TCS ideas in a 2 year period AND have an average turn-time of 7 days or less and your name will be placed in a drawing for 1 Dream Vacation. Earn even more points as a Bright Idea Evaluator!
23
Every six months, all TCS ideas will be placed into a drawing and 1 will be chosen at random to receive a Dream Vacation.
