Be Still Psalm 46:4-7 – God’s dwelling place is unmovable – Israel and the temple at Zion Representative of God’s presence (II Chron. 6:18-21) – A permanent kingdom (Dan. 2:44; 7:14) Gates of Hades shall not prevail (Matt. 16:18) Unshakeable (Heb. 12:22-24, 28)

Be Still Psalm 46:8-11 – Behold the works of the Lord – Creation (Psa. 19:1) – Walls of Jericho (Josh. 6:20) – Lions of Babylon (Dan. 6:22) – Fiery furnace (Dan. 3:26) – Victory over death (Acts 2:24) Come, behold the works of the Lord!

Be Still Psalm 46:8-11 – Behold the works of the Lord – This earth belongs to God (Psa. 50:10-12) He is in control (Isa. 14:24-27; Prov. 21:30; Dan. 4:35) – His unstoppable plan for our salvation Israel fell, God preserved a remnant (II Chron. 36:22-23) Herod killed babies, Jesus survived (Matt. 2; Jer. 31:15) Jews could not kill Jesus (John 7:30; 8:20; 19:11) Died on the cross, rose up (I Cor. 15:4) Persecuted, spread the word (Acts 8:4) – His power demonstrated (Matt. 8:23-27)
