What is ‘Thinking Creatively’? Coming up with an idea that is unique and did not exist before. Developing a unique idea can give a business a competitive advantage

Deliberate Creativity The intentional creation of new ideas through recognised and accepted techniques. This would involve going through a process in order to try and generate new ideas. For example, putting on different thinking hats to tackle problems from different angles. 'White-hat' thinking looks at facts and 'black- hat' thinking looks at drawbacks. Lateral Thinking Thinking differently to try and find out new and unexpected idea. It is about producing ideas that people would not come up with during their normal day-to-day lives. Sometimes described as “thinking out of the box.”

Blue Skies Thinking A technique used in deliberate creative thinking One way is to start with an idea or an object or a question.

Six Thinking Hats A technique that helps to organise and focus ideas Each hat represents a different way to think about an issue or explore a business idea
