1. Who I am… My name is Brittany Barrington and I am 29 years old from Georgia. I am a newlywed and a Crime Scene Investigator with my county police department for over 7 years now. I have an Associate and Bachelor degree in Social and Criminal Justice. I live in the metro Atlanta region. About 40 minutes away from downtown Atlanta, Georgia. I was born and raised here in Georgia. Now I work for Gwinnet County where I grew up and currently live at. I could live on chips and salsa alone with cupcakes coming in as a close second.

3. Schools… Who was your favorite K – 12 teacher and why? Who was your least favorite and why? My favorite teacher was my 5 th grade teacher. I can still remember lessons she taught us because of her unique teaching styles. She showed us not only a passion for teaching, but a passion and love for us as students. My least favorite was my 7 th grade teacher who was all about strict discipline more than teaching. She would be more concerned about how shorts were past knees and implementing quietness more than encouraging creativity and questions. This is how I do not want to be as a teacher. 4. Master’s Degree… How and when you chose to earn a master’s degree in your chosen program. What made you passionate about this career choice? I was always wanting to go back for my master’s degree but I could not decide what to major in. What my deciding factor when I started earlier this year was one of my previous high schools wanted to know if I would be interested in teaching their Law and Justice program. That is when I decided to make my degree for education. After being in the forensic science field for over 7 years I do guest speaking for high school classes all the time and I love to see their passion and drive. I know I can make a positive influence in their lives before they become a part of the criminal side.
