Contaminants in water can include Heavy Metal Ions, molecular substances, solvents, and inappropriate levels of pH, dissolved oxygen, and temperature I.Heavy Metal Ions – these atoms have greater mass than the masses of essential metallic elements, and are harmful to humans and other organisms - Interfere with normal protein functioning
