Treatment
7
1.It can affect a genetic mutation called CFTR. ※ CFTR=Cystic Fibrosis Transmembrane- conductance Regulator 2. It helps chloride gateway to stay open. 3. It can fix the basic problem. 4. It can prevent from the lungs deteriorate.
8
1.Lungs dry up 2. It sill affects pancreas and digestive tract. 3. Overly salty skin.
9
Have a mutation in which the protein Manufactured inside the cell Never makes it (CFTR) to the cell surface Can’t act as a chloride channel Try to develop drugs that would help bring it to the cell surface Ivacaftor could then pick up the process from there Problem Solution
10
Cystic fibrosis is an incurable genetic disease, but there’s an experimental drug that brings the new hope. The drug is called ivacaftor. However, there’s still a problem. The mutation makes ivacaftor doesn’t work. Therefore, researchers are trying to save this problem and help the patients to overcome the disease.
