Petrozavodsk City Administration continues to realize the “Development of sports and physical culture in Petrozavodsk in 2013- 2017”municipal program.

Some figures: There are 7 children sport schools in Petrozavodsk. 3 of them have status of a “School of Olympic reserve”. Within the frameworks of the Municipal target plan - 10102 children attend the sport schools.

Systematically more than 100000 Petrozavodsk citizens do sports and physical trainings (36,5% of population).

Petrozavodsk Calendar Plan of Sport Activities included more than 260 sport events in 2015. Among them were: - Ski Trail of Russia; - “Russian azimuth” All-Russian orienteering competition;

-The Nations’ Cross and a Sports’ fair; -“Winter Fountains” City ski holiday; -“Fountains 2015” traditional ski trail (more than 500 participants from Petrozavodsk and Karelia); -“Prewalkers’ Marathon” and a family sport event “Small champion”; - “Country cross” in the framework of the All-Russian sportsman day – 2015 etc.

Specially should be mentioned a number of activities in the framework of the All-Russian action “Morning exercises with a champion”.

There were organized a number of activities within the All-Russian sports and physical culture GTO («Ready for Labor and Defense») complex. Among them: 1 st games of the 16-17 years old pupils – 551 participants from 27 schools; a municipal phase of the All-Russian festival of GTO, etc.

Sport Infrastructure development In the framework of a charity “Sportmaster generation” project different sport equipment was set in the territory of 8 Petrozavodsk schools. A number of «MB BARBELL» outdoor fitness-machines were installed in the sport schools’ grounds.

The Levin Boxing Centre The Levin Boxing Centre was built in 1972. The Soviet Union boxing team was trained for the Munich Olympic Games there. In 2013, the Boxing Centre was bestowed the name of the famous coach from Petrozavodsk Leonid Levin — Merited Boxing Coach of the USSR, Merited Physical Education Worker of the Karelian ASSR, Honorary Citizen of Petrozavodsk. There are 2 sport halls equipped with a ring and different facilities and an outdoor playground. The large hall area is 614 m 2, the small one is 195 m 2. Up to 600 visitors can be placed at the audience space. Sport events are broadcasting online on www.truba.comwww.truba.com

The «H2O» municipal swimming pool The Swimming pool was opened in May 2014. There are 2 swimming bowls (warm water 0,8 m deep for children and cool water 2 m deep for teens and adults). The pool is opened for free visits. Special time is reserved for trainings of the city Sport school N 3 pupils.

The “Koral” Sport hall The “Koral” Sport hall was opened in 2014. The multi-purpose sport hall organizes classes for sport schools, the city competitions in football, floorball, gymnastics, etc. During the summer season a health camp to be held. The universal hall size is 24x48 m, height is 7,1 m. The changing rooms area is 1000 m 2. It is planned to include the sport hall into the all-Russian register of sport facilities, that will allow to hold the Russian Federation’s level competitions in Petrozavodsk.

The artificial ice “Lumi” sport complex The “Lumi” Sport complex was opened in December 2014. The ice field is 61x30 m, there are additional facilities like rooms for shoes and cloth drying, changing rooms, sauna, medical room, snack bar, dance hall, gym. The tribunes can place 411 visitors. The Sport school N6 students have special time for trainings. Also the complex is available the adults’ hockey teams’ trainings and for the public skating.

The “Yunost’” city stadium Started its history since 1914 when a first official football tournament was held here. This title appeared in 1994. The stadium has football field, basketball and volleyball courts, running track, skatepark, spare field and an office building. Pupils of the municipal sport schools exercise here.

Health promotion campaign in 2015 During the summer season in 4 city sport camps there were organized 14 periods of recreation (14-18 days each) where 1 120 children took part.

High-level sport - success of our sportsmen: - Rashad Muradov – silver, World Sambo Championship in Morocco (weight category up to 68 kg) - Nadezhda Kotlyarova – 4 th in 4х400 m relay, World Athletics Championship in China - Aleksandra Rusakova – gold and silver in orienteering, European Championship among boys and girls up to 17 year old in Norway

Key plans for 2016 -Realization of the GTO (“Ready for labor and Defense”) complex; -“Fountain“ city Ski track: landscaping and lighting; -Installation of athletic and educational equipment in the territories of educational organizations and courtyards; -New events in the framework of the Calendar plan.
