2003 All Hands Meeting FBIRN 2003
2
Complete the Data Analysis Calibration and statistics issues Assess the variability Global measures ROI measures (testing the automated segmentation) Reliability maps (e.g., ICCs) Model-based analysis (e.g., GLM) Bayesian estimates of effects Correlation between the various tasks BH and sensorimotor Correlations between results and QA measures Use the expectation-maximization method (STAPLE) to measure spatial reproducibility Publication topics QA recommendations sensorimotor vs non-cognitive tasks The different measures, the reliability/reproducibility of the results Make recommendations regarding calibration approaches (Dec) so Phase II can begin (Jan)
3
Complete the Data Analysis Cognitive task issues Finish the SIRP and MMN analyses Evaluate the results wrt specific aims Memory set size analysis (SIRP) Linear effects in DLPFC Fixation vs 3-5 and arrows vs 3-5 and arrows vs 1 MMN analyses: reliability of STG activations from tones Pilot modifications as needed Odd/mismatch Publications SIRP and auditory findings—reliability/reproducibility Other details of learning or other analyses Make recommendations for final versions (Dec) so Phase II studies can begin (Jan)
4
Infrastructure Development Interfaces Data input interface BIRN product development: Consistent GUI with standard input functions to HID Database query interface Local interface which accepts queries, recall data from the local DB XML infrastructure Set up a working group to develop BIRN-wide scheme Incorporate task meta-data Expand supported image formats Integrate with Human BIRN applications (Slicer etc.) Database populating Serve as an SRBFS test bed Functional BIRN clinical ontology development its interaction with the database schema Publications XML interfaces with the BIRN test bed Evaluations of the SRB
5
Critical Issues Clinical assessments Develop a working group to confirm we have what’s needed to answer the queries Interact with Morph and MIND clinical DBs for efficient DB development Provide final recommendations (Dec) so that Phase II studies can begin (Jan)
6
Future plans BISTI presentation, Nov 6-7 Society for Neuroscience presentation, Nov 8-12 FIRST BIRN All Hands Meeting March 3-5, 2004 National Academy of Sciences (West), Irvine NIH meeting re: BIRN March 22-23, 2004 Bethesda, MD ISMRM (May), Human Brain Mapping (June), and other presentations, 2004 Competitive Renewal due September, 2004
7
Deliverables for March What can we deliver by the end of March? Needs to be robust and straightforward accessible to the public useable by the public potentially generalizable to other fields, to show the worth of the BIRN model in keeping with our specific aims Full-blown Data query examples on current human dataset Populated imaging and human database Public access levels and policies/security for that (Data Sharing TF) Mediator access/understanding of the DB (w/ BIRN CC) Interface that allows a range of queries to be formed Recommendations to the MRI field
