Project Background This project is a part of the JTAMobilityWorks program, which is funded from bonds issued against the 2014 extension of the Local Option Gas Tax. Work on the project was previously completed through the City of Jacksonville's Better Jacksonville program.

Project Overview Girvin Road project involves approximately 2.9 miles of roadway reconstruction from Atlantic Boulevard to Wonderwood Drive Upon completion, the roadway will feature a five lane urban section south of Ashley Melisse Boulevard to Atlantic Blvd. and a three lane urban section north of Ashley Melisse Boulevard to Wonderwood Dr. Design-Build Cost: $17,485,890.99

Project Scope Scope of work includes: Curb and gutter Closed drainage system Center turn lanes and grassed medians Lighting Sidewalks Utility relocations ► JEA Water and Sewer

Project Status RB Baker Construction will complete final design and construction ► The original design plans were prepared for CoJ under the Better Jacksonville Plan The project is being completed through Design-Build Right-of-way was acquired by CoJ Original permits have expired and new permits must be obtained

Project Challenges 100% plans previously completed for CoJ Plans were returned to 60% level due to lapsed time and permitting issues ► Survey to confirm existing elevations ► Existing utilities may require adjustments ► Drainage design ► New permitting requirements

Project Challenges Roadway design adjustments required to meet current standards ► 40 mph design speed ► Lane widths and cross-slope adjustments ► Elevation changes Drainage design must be fully reviewed and may require rework in some areas Final utility design for relocation and coordination Temporary construction easements
