3. 14 These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly: 15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. 16 And (without controversy) great is the mystery of godliness (Great is the mystery of the Christian religion.) God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

4. Great is the Mystery: 1. God (the Son, Jesus) was manifested in the flesh was revealed in human form. Mtt.1:21; John 1:143 2. Jesus was justified in the Spirit. The Holy Spirit vindicated Jesus in that His true nature was disclosed and His Messianic claims substantiated. Jno. 8:24. 3. Seen of angels. Angels witnessed Jesus’ whole earthly career. Matt. 4:11 4. Jesus was preached unto the Gentiles (a revelation of the mystery That was revealed. Thus, to all nations of men. (Matt. 28:18-20;Acts 10:34,35) 5. Believed on in the world. Multitudes have accepted the gospel, Obeying it and following the teaching of the Master. (Heb. 5:8,9) 6. Received up into glory…Jesus was taken back into heaven. Acts 1:9-11

The Glorious Church EPH. 5:25-27 “Husbands love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, that he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing: but that it should be holy and without blemish.”

7. Are you IN or OUT of the church that Jesus purchased with His Own Blood? (Acts 20:28-30)

8. Why ‘a Glorious Church”..we need each other! 1. We need a leader: Jesus Christ Col.1:18; Eph. 1:21-23; Col.3:17 2. We need a family: God’s children together. I Tim. 3:15; Matt. 16:13-18 3. We need a work that we can do together. God’s work. A place where we can work together to do God’s work. John 9:4 I must work the work of God… 4. We need a goal:. We are all going to die…and we want To be ready for Heaven. Heb. 9:27; Eccl. 9:5

9. The church of Christ had a glorious.. Beginning: Acts 2:37, 22-23 Acts 2:37 Acts 2:38 Acts 2:41,47 Col. 1:13

10. The church of Christ had a glorious builder: Jesus Christ. Matt. 16:13-18 Eh. 3:9-11..God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: to the intent That now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,according to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

11. The church of Christ has a glorious Saviour Eph. 1:20-23 God’s great mystery revealed that JESUS IS THE head of God’s glorious church! Eph. 5:23; It’s Savior..and he is the savior of the body Heb. 2:17 High Priest..Wherefore in all things it behooved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people” I Tim. 6:15 It’s Potentate and mighty King : which in his times he shall show, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of Lords:” Eph. 2:19,20 Its Chief Corner Stone “Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners,but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; and are Built upon the foundation, of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone” We need Him every hour!

12. It’s Law. The law of the Glorious church revealed !! The New Testament. It is it’s only law. This is the instrument of authority through which Christ rules the church. Phil. 3:16 “nevertheless,whereto we have already attained, Let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.” 2 Tim. 1:13 hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. We cannot add to it or take away from it. Rev. 22:18-19 It was given by the inspiration of God. 2 Tim. 3:16,17 We must contend for ‘the faith’. Jude 3. We will be judged by it. John 12:48

13. It’s Worship: First day of the week Heb. 10:25 Rev. 1:10 Preach the Word. 2 Tim. 4:2 Giving. I Cor. 16:1-2 Prayer. Acts 2:42 Breaking of Bread I Cor. 11:23-29 Acts 20:7) Singing. Eph. 5:19; Col. 3:16; I Cor. 14:15

14. It’s Earthly Organization. Elders I Pet. 5:2 Acts 14:23; Acts 20:28 Deacons: Phil. 1:1 ; I Tim. 3:8-13 Preachers to preach and reprove.(exhort) the flock. I Tim. 4:1-5 Eph. 4:11

15. The only church that will stand forever! Eph. 5:23 “..and he is the savour of the body” The Saviour of the church of Christ is the glorified Jesus Christ. It is only those who are in this glorious church who can hope For salvation.Col. 1:13

17. In Summary: 1. We need to be in the glorious church? Are you? In or Out ? 2. We need to have the Saviour, Jesus Christ. Do you? 3. Our people are dying, men and women, young people Who are leaving this world every week. So many leave without Being in the glorious church. 4. We need help and encouragement to go on. “Where can I Go but to the Lord!.

18. Paul’s intention in writing these things: That Timothy might know how to behave himself. How to function correctly in the kingdom of God and without controversy GREAT IS THE MYSTERY OF GODLINESS:
