3 Be sure to show your pass and sign in when coming to the library during class times You MUST show your ID and sign in at lunchtime

4 Behavior The library is a place for QUIET study, research, reading, or doing homework. PLEASE – No talking louder than a whisper!

5 No food or drinks AT ALL! Not even water! Backpacks under tables Hats off ALWAYS push in your chair when you leave Use the trash cans

6 I.D. CARDS ID cards are required to: Check out books Enter Library Media Center at lunch Take WARP quizzes

7 ID cards are NOT required to: Renew a book Return a book Pay a fine Visit the Media Center before or after school

8 KEEP YOUR I.D. CARD IN YOUR BACKPACK AT ALL TIMES!

9 Looking for books Use the online catalog

10 Looking for Books/Materials Dewey Decimal Number for non-fiction books Fiction books: Listed by “FIC” and 1 st three letters of author’s last name FIC ROW

11 TO SHELVE, OR NOT TO SHELVE? Put all books you are not checking out ON THE CART

12 Check it out! Three book limit Three week check-out

13 Check it in! Place book in the book drop Don’t just leave books on the counter and walk away!

14 Renew it! OVERDUE BOOKS MAY NOT BE RENEWED! RETURN BOOKS ON TIME!

15 Overdues/Fines Overdue book fine is 10¢ per day/per item Lost green cards = $1 Do not ignore an overdue notice! It will not magically disappear!!

16 Return the late book EVEN IF YOU CAN’T PAY THE FINE! (This stops the fine from increasing) Students with fines/overdues may not check out additional books!

17 Lost/Damaged Books Do not loan your ID card to anyone and NEVER check out books for a friend! You are responsible for everything checked out with your id card!

18 Computer Use Computers are for schoolwork only! Taking WARP quizzes Doing research Word processing Searching for books

19 More computer stuff to know: Printing costs 20¢ per page (50 ¢ for color) EVEN FOR STUFF YOU DON’T INTEND TO PRINT! Pencil & pens 25¢ Mechanical pencils 50 ¢ Eraser sticks 50 ¢

20 Copies are 20¢ per page Hint! Always have a little money with you in case you need to copy or print something!

21 WARP = Wright Accelerated Reader Program You MUST have a WARP approval form properly filled out.
