3. The Load What is Cooling/Heating Requirement Remember, a BTU is a BTU

A Load calculation is the same for Unico as for all other HVAC systems
Unico provides a Bulletin which contains a very simple sizing guide based on older building construction

Side by side comparison of the old PSC motor (on right) with the new ECM. Silver item at the bottom is the controller, these are very sensitive to high heat, therefore don’t use a hot water coil with entering water temperature of greater than 140 degrees

Uses the Emerson EC motor, a very common industry motor
The control for the motor is specific for the designs of the Unico system.
Sets a constant CFM by adjusting the RPM to conform with the Unico System fan curve

LED Lights: Power, indicated 24v supply; Heat, unit in heating mode, PCB Control, something on the board’s software is causing the fan to run. Fan: flashes long for 100 CFM, short for 50 CFM
