The Sample Company – Craig’s Design and Landscaping Services The sample company, Craig’s Design and Landscaping Services, is shown in Chapter 1. Using the sample company, you learn about the basic features of QuickBooks Online (QBO). To use QBO, you need to sign in with a web browser. Browsers include Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari. QBO can be used wherever you are − the web, iPhone, iPad, and Android. Go online to http://quickbooks.intuit.com/mobile to learn more. http://quickbooks.intuit.com/mobile Completing Chapter 1 helps you become familiar with the user interface. In Chapters 2 through 10, you log into QuickBooks Online and work with a merchandising company that you set up. 2 of 11

Each time you start the sample company, a unique verification code is typed. The security verification changes with each log in, and the sample company, Craig’s Design and Landscaping Services, starts over again. When you sign out or exit the sample company, data is not saved. Each time you start the sample company, and type the security word, you begin a new session of Craig’s Design and Landscaping Services. To complete Exercise 1-1, you should start a new session of the sample company. Exercises 1-1 and 1-2 work together. Sign out after completing Exercise 1-2. 7 of 11
