General Overview/ Description ACCOUNTANTS MANAGE AND KEEP TRACK OF A COMPANY'S FINANCES PROVIDE COMPANY FINANCIAL REPORTS TO MANAGERS THAT SUMMARIZE HOW WELL THE COMPANY IS DOING OVER A PERIOD OF TIME. FINANCIAL REPORTS ALLOW MANAGERS TO MAKE IMPORTANT DECISIONS IN TERMS OF WHERE MONEY SHOULD BE ALLOCATED TO MAXIMIZE COMPANY PROFITS

Level of Education/License At least a bachelor’s in accounting Or a degree in BA with a concentration on accounting CPA (Certified Public Accountant) given by SEC (Securities Exchange Commission)

Daily Duties Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information. Documents financial transactions by entering account information. Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options. Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports. Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents. Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
