Conclusions - With CRISs (combinations of) projects/programmes, organisations, expertise and publications are dominant; CRIS with additional data on funding and, particularly, patents and equipment, are less common. Thirty CRISs provide only information on projects/programmes, 7 offer a combination of projects, organisations and expertise and 11 offer more - The most frequent combinations are national/disciplinary/projects (12), national/all sciences /organisations (5), and worldwide/disciplinary/ projects (4); but in general, international and worldwide CRISs are discipline oriented, whereas most national databases cover all sciences
