Began with 20 women fleeing the war in Vietnam to meet a Hollywood Starlet, Tippi Hedren, in a Sacramento refugee camp who helped them find their dream occupation. In 1975, Thuan Li, 1 st Vietnamese female to receive a Manicurist license.

In 1983, Henry and Mai Huynh (husband and wife), founded Happy Nails Company where they manage over 60 salons, providing employment for over 1500 persons.

In 1985, Diem and Kien Nguyen (husband and wife), also opened a Nail Salon and later founded the Advance Beauty College in Little Saigon, Orange County in 1987. Their children, Tam Nguyen and Linh Nguyen, continued the family beauty school as the second generation owners.

In 1997, “Charlie” Quy Ton, opened 1st nail salon inside Wal-Mart Store. The franchise currently has more than 940 locations in the retail powerhouse.
