6. Land Use Initiative Makes available the services of one of the nations top land use law firms to provide analysis of proposed laws and regulations. No charge to the local or state associations for this service. Since 1999, over 600 ordinances have been reviewed. Easy to use process.

11. Smart Growth E-Newsletter E-newsletter available on the NAR Smart Growth website. Covers developments in Smart Growth for all 50 states. Available to REALTORS® free of charge.

14. Smart Growth Action Grants Provides up to $5,000 for local and state association smart growth activities. Applications accepted twice a year in April and October. Grants used for smart growth seminars, bus tours, coalitions, website to market older neighborhoods. Grant Program part of Partnership with Diversity and Housing Opportunity

15. Smart Growth Action Grants California Grants Awarded Arcadia Association of REALTORS®: $5,000 to host a green building seminar and expo to help educate Realtors® about green building initiatives. Pasadena ‐ Foothills Association of REALTORS®: to co ‐ sponsor a one ‐ day housing affordability summit and to develop a list of recommendations to be used as a blueprint for action by the city’s housing department. Southland Regional Association of REALTORS®: to conduct an educational seminar on redevelopment techniques East San Diego County Association of REALTORS®: to support community outreach and coalition building efforts to ensure that smart growth practices are made part of the county's General Plan. Tuolumne County Association of REALTORS®: to support participation in a regional 2 ‐ day conference on smart growth. San Luis Obispo Association of REALTORS®: : to host a one ‐ day training for Realtors® and the public on green building and smart growth planning.

Bay East Association of REALTORS® - to support "The Bay Area Multi- Cultural Real Estate Summit" in partnership with other local REALTOR® associations, which will enhance the ability of members to better serve and understand the home ownership needs and trends of the increasingly diverse real estate market. Beverly Hills/Greater LA Association of REALTORS® - to support REALTOR® education on Fair Housing Awareness and increase understanding of the variety of cultures living in the Beverly Hills/Los Angeles area. Oakland Association of REALTORS® - Program Description: to support involvement of the REALTOR® to work with Lao Family Community Development to bring home buyer workshops to 30 different ethnic groups. Orange County Association of REALTORS® - to support a homebuyer fair targeting Latino and Asian families.

22. Ambassadors for Cities Recognizing partnerships between REALTORS® & Mayors promoting housing opportunities. Result of partnership with USCM. Goal: Encourage new partnerships between Mayors and local REALTORS® to expand housing opportunities. $5,000 award from NAR.

23. Ambassadors for Cities California Award Winners Tri-Valley, Calif. (Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin, San Ramon and Danville) and the Bay East Association of REALTORS® (2009) –Tri-Valley Housing Opportunity Center - Bay East has partnered with a coalition of five cities to develop the Tri-Valley Housing Opportunity Center, a nonprofit public charity that provides pre- and post-purchase home buyer education, income and asset development education, and information regarding private sector lender programs, and funding sources. Irvine, Calif., and the Orange County Association of REALTORS® (2008) –Public Officials 101. OCAR worked with the city and other partners to develop a homeownership education program for Orange County mayors, council members and city managers. The program provides information about the state of local housing and the resources available to develop workforce housing initiatives within their cities.

25. Housing Opportunity Fund Grants Grant Recipients San Diego Association of REALTORS® - to sponsor a free Home Clinic for first-time home buyers, in partnership with local nonprofits. San Mateo County Association of REALTORS® - to host a regional educational housing expo about first-time home buying, investing, senior housing issues and foreclosure prevention. Bay East Association of REALTORS® - to form a partnership with a nonprofit housing organization and provide customized support and counseling to low- and moderate-income first-time home buyers.

Broker Involvement Program Broker Owners can access the “Broker Portal” where they –review and approve the email that NAR sends to their agents along with the Call for Action (CFA). –view online reports on how their agents responded to the Calls for Action. NAR always gives Brokers the choice to participate in a Broker Call for Action and an online fundraising appeal.
