Why is ASRP important for you? Time to reflect on achievements Goal setting and planning for the next 12 months A conversation tailored to your career: a focus on the individual academic A conversation about resourcing and opportunities; professional development and career advancement. E.g. Promotion, Vice Chancellors Academic Staff Development Scheme.

Who should complete an ASRP? All full-time/part-time: »continuing confirmed academic staff (not probationary) »fixed term academic staff (employed for more than 12 months). Staff wishing to apply for: »Promotion »ASP for the following year »The Academic Equity Development Program (AEDP). Academic Managers are reviewed in November 4

ASRP Documentation Required Previous year’s Objectives, actions and progress (Part 3 of ASRP) Part 1 of the Academic Staff Review and Plan and Part 3 in draft for coming year Academic Portfolio Teaching evidence: all SET and SEC other teaching evidence (peer reviews, citations, awards) Research / Scholarship evidence Updated “My Publications” listing Best research output over the review period Research and publication plan – template Service evidence 5

What are Supervisor’s Looking for? Clearly articulated achievements from the past twelve months against the set objectives, along with documented evidence of performance Performance against the : list of Academic Activities (Appendix 8 of the Academic Staff Review Policy and Procedures) Position Classification Standards (Appendix 7) Previously agreed performance objectives Supervisors will also consider : special factors that need to be taken into account; areas of academic emphasis undertaken; workload of the academic is fair and reasonable; existence of non-traditional career paths; University's equity and diversity policies; and mitigating circumstances.

Academic Studies Program (ASP) ASP provides eligible academic staff with an opportunity to apply for time away from normal duties to engage in scholarly activity. Who Can Apply? Continuing and confirmed academic staff provided they have served at least three years of continuous service since: appointment; and completion of a previous period of ASP ASP is not an entitlement, and is only granted according to criteria set out in the policy. Academic Equity Development Program (AEDP). The Academic Equity Development Program (AEDP) provides eligible academic and research staff with support to conduct sustained activities to further their development as scholars, researchers, teachers and/or practitioners. It is awarded in recognition of the achievements and potential achievements of individual staff, despite previous career disadvantage that has been experienced and related to certain attributes or circumstances. Nominations are open to Level A and B academic staff (including research only staff) who: have been employed for three or more years; are performing satisfactorily; have received teaching release in the past three years; have not been part of this program in the last five years (or ASEDP/TASDSS/VCASDS); have nominated attritibutes or life circumstances and responsibilities. HOW TO LOG IN? Initial login & access: Use the links provided on the Academic Work at Griffith website You must provide an email address and password if you have not previously applied/submitted through the PageUp system. Subsequent login & access: Use the “Applicant Sign-on” on Academic Work at Griffith website to Save, Edit, Update or Withdraw your ASRP / ASP submission 11

Things to note: Submission Closing Date as outlined in the email from your Group Pro Vice Chancellor Academic Portfolio is compulsory Academic Portfolio All documentation to be submitted online via eRecruit platform. eRecruit system sends email confirmation of receipt once your submission is completed FAQ’s on Performance Reviews available via ASK HR website.ASK HR website 12

Next Steps 1.Collect relevant documentation in digital copy form. For example 2015 ASRP outcomes, SET and SEC, My Pubs. 2.Reflect on achievements and profile for ASRP discussion and ensure documentation is available for uploading. 3.Go to the Academic Work at Griffith site and click on relevant element link to submit. 4.Contact academicwork@griffith.edu.au or ext 54011 (option 4) if you have difficulties submitting online or password issues.academicwork@griffith.edu.au 5.Contact supervisor to set up ASRP meeting time. 6.Remember to upload your final signed copy of the ASRP online.
