4 Drone Laying Queen Causes and Effect Poor mating Queen That Lays Only Drone Eggs Spotty Laying Pattern & All Drones To Fix Remove frame with drone cells Add frame with brood & open larva Requeen the hive

5 Queenless Hive Causes and Effect Queen died or she didn’t return from getting mated No Queen in the Hive No larva and very little brood To Fix Add frame of brood with open larva Hive swarmed? Give the queen three weeks Introduce a new queen

6 Laying Worker Causes and Effect Queenless hive that has a worker bee laying eggs More Then One Egg in Same Cell Scattered Drone Cells To Fix Remove all frames with drone cell Shake all bees out of the hive 150 feet away Add frame with brood and larva introduce queen two days later OR Combine hive with a strong hive that is queen right OR Split into nucs and add queen OR Shake bees out of hive and freeze the frames

14 Wax Moths A Grayish Moth They Leave Webbed Trails Don’t Kill Bees or Take Over Hives They Move into Hives That Have Unused Space To Fix Remove affected frames and freeze Remove unoccupied boxes May need to burn frames

16 Yellow Jackets Mostly Nest in the Ground ½” long Don’t Leave to Much Space on Small Hives To Fix Eliminate the nest Late at Night, spray or flood with hot water Dig up nest and destroy
