Vision Statement  Our Vision in the 1-204th RTI (Armor) is to retain and train Soldiers, enhancing our partnership with employers and communities, and ensuring that our great Soldiers are trained to meet the ever- changing threats that challenge our nation and the 21st Century.  In thinking of the paradigms, a vision is the way forward, not the steady state. The paradigm needs to be where all stakeholders “buy in” to this vision.  This vision must be shared.

3. Vision Statement - reflection  My current vision does not discuss ethics. In thinking back on what I have learned in EDU 689, I feel this vision should reflect ethics.  I would modify this as follows:  I need to add something to do with the application of ethics in this vision.  My thoughts are to incorporate the Ethic of Profession

5. Why are Ethics important?  Through the proper application of ethics, we establish a code of conduct for all stakeholders.  Having an established Ethical Code of conduct gives a set of tools to solve dilemmas.  It provides a starting point or baseline to build from  It acts as a compass to steer from

6. Ethical Leadership and Professional Development  As a Leader, I must set the standard of conduct.  To develop my subordinates, I have to give them a code that is agreed upon as a team.  A code of ethics is important to me because without it, you cannot have expectations of your students, you have no standards, and justice.  As a Soldier and Leader, I must have ethics, I must hold myself and subordinates to the standards. But, also provide them opportunities to excel beyond the standards.

7. Personality Characteristics Lead To Professional Competencies  If a teacher has strong personality characteristics, then the competencies easily align.  Anyone can become educated, it is what you do with that education is what is important. Professional Competencies are not just the education the person possesses. It is also the desire to teach, communicate, and learn.  Lifelong learning and self development are a path that is only the beginning. The ability to present the material must also develop.
