4. HR in Paper Technology Paper was invented in ancient China during the Han dynasty (206 BC – 220 AD). Traditional HR was always linked to paper works. Paper works about Labor Policies, Employee Information, Contracts and Grievances. HR Challenges: Pile of paper works confidentiality of documents, lost documents and HR’s speed of service to its stakeholders.

5. HR in Hardware Technology The first mechanical computer, created by Charles Babbage in 1822. The Hardware Technology solved the issue of HR speed of service to its stakeholders. It expanded HR’s capability to track, monitor and report for its stakeholders. HR Challenge: The stakeholders expects more efficient services from HR especially on reports that would help company develop effective business strategy.

6. HR in Software Technology The first automated machine was introduced in the mid-late 1970’s. HR embraced AUTOMATION thru softwares created by in- house IT staff and third party IT Firms. HR automated TIMEKEEPING, RECRUITMENT ASSESSMENT, LEAVE FILING, PAYROLL, PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT & HRIS. HR Challenge: Automation is always about inward to business but company’s are slowly losing its human touch with its employees.

HR is preparing for Gen Z by embracing mobile technology thru social media platforms. HR will now recognize the value of app / mobile versions of their internal softwares for their employee use. HR will become more DATA DRIVEN thru Data Analytics.

HR in Digital Technology Bringing back H to HR by HUMANISING. *HR will begin to behave more like marketing—analyzing employee data, creating customized talent offerings, and marketing and branding talent and HR processes. *HR will play a bigger role evaluating external technologies, and building interfaces between them and the organization’s own data and systems. HR will start creating HR digital strategies thru visual approach. HR will engage potential and current employees in building their workplace experience.
