Has a rainy and dry season
Temperate = temp varies, only 1 or two months avg. below freezing
Arctic, polar, cold, taiga = temp varies, many months spent below freezing
II. Desert, Grassland or Forest?
Deserts average 1 or less inches of rainfall per month
Grasslands average 2-3 inches of rainfall per month
Forests average 4+ inches of rainfall per month
In polar climates, the precip. averages less
