ELECTIVE PRE-REGISTRATION To ensure equitable access to elective classes, the MBA Program has a two-step registration process: Step One Students participate in an online pre-registration bidding process, facilitated by the MBA Program Office Step Two: MBA Program Office officially registers you for classes

PREPARE FOR THE BIDDING PROCESS Read the Elective Course Pre-Registration Instructions. Consult how many Bid Points you have available to you, check special instructions and consult the Bid HistoryElective Course Pre-Registration Instructions Bid PointsBid History For Spring quarter, Evening Class of 2014 students will have: 27 points for indicating BECON 501 core section preference (2 cr) and/or 4 credits of electives. (Maximum of 4 credits electives total), or 17 points for indicating BECON 501 core section preference (2 cr) or 2 credits of electives. (Maximum of 2 credits electives total).

HOW CLASSES ARE AWARDED Priorities for awarding class spaces Evening students are given priority for evening classes. Day students have priority for day classes CIE students are given priority into certificate-required courses as long as they bid the minimum required points (see Special Cases and Exclusions on the Elective Bidding Instructions webpage)Special Cases and Exclusions Points bid Date/time bid submitted

PROCESSING STAGE During the processing stage, from the time bidding closes until the time that the system opens up for you to access your bidding results, you may not get into the pre-registration system. The processing time is set for approx. 8 days after the last bidding

After login in, select the “My Bid Information” tab and you will see your bids listed in rank order with the following messages under the column entitled “Current Status”: 1.ENROLLED which indicates that you were awarded a space in the class 2.Class Cancelled which means that the course was cancelled due to low enrollment 3.Unneeded which means that you were already awarded higher ranked classes, up to the maximum number allowed 4.Class Full, followed by your number on the wait list which means you did not get into the class and are now on the wait list 5.Duplicate which means that you were already awarded a seat in the other section of this class.

FAQ ABOUT BIDDING My class has low enrollment, will it be cancelled? Class minimum enrollment is 20 I’m on the wait list, will I get in? We suggest that you request back up courses Can I take additional classes beyond what I was able to bid for? Yes, on a space available basis I forgot to bid – what do I do now? We will work with you to build the best schedule we can, on a space available basis If I’m on a Leave of Absence, can I still participate in bidding? Yes, if you are on leave and will be taking classes in the upcoming quarter – you should participate in bidding

ADDING ADDITIONAL CLASSES Additional Classes, above and beyond the classes for which you were awarded in the pre-registration (bidding) process, can be requested on a space available basis (see pre-reg calendar) by sending an email to mbaregis@uw.edu mbaregis@uw.edu For Spring quarter, the date to request additional classes is 2/13/2013. Available elective class spaces (following bidding) are given out on a first- come, first-served basis and we discard requests received before 2/13/2013. Set up your Outlook to send a message to us at 12:00am (or 12:01am to be safe).

REGISTRATION TIMELINE Feb. 13 Evening Class of 2013 and 2014 students may request available seats or add their names to wait lists.
