3 We use the comparative form of an adjective when we want to compare two nouns (objects, people, situations, animals, etc). E.g. Mike is taller than his friend Joseph.

4 We use the superlative form of an adjective when we want to compare one noun with the other members of its group or category. E.g. Mike is the tallest in his class.

6 TWO-SYLLABLE ADJECTIVES Most of two-syllable adjectives form their comparative with ‘more’ and the superlative with ‘most’. 7 THREE-SYLLABLE ADJECTIVES When and adjective has three syllables or more you add ‘more’ for the comparative and ‘most’ for the superlative.
