Forming superlatives 这个星期,今天最冷。 Zhège xīngqī, jīntiān zuìlěng. Today is the coldest of the week. 这个最不好。 Zhège zuìbùhăo. lit. This most not good. (This is the worst) Put the prefix 最 zuì (most) before the relevant adjective:

If you want to modify nouns with a superlative, 的 de must be used between the superlative form of the adjective and the noun:

Expressing ‘when’ in a time clause To express ‘when in a time clause, use the expression 的时候 de shíhou after the verb or verbal phrase/clause: 吃饭的时候,我喜欢看电视。 Chīfàn de shíhou, wǒ xǐhuan kàn diànshì. I like watching TV when eating.

我妈妈给我打电话的时候,我正 在考口试。 Wǒ māma gěi wǒ dǎ diànhuà de shíhou, wǒ zhèngzài kǎo kǒu shì. When my mum called me, I was taking my oral exam.

Talking about the immediate future 要 (yào) can also use to indicate the immediate future, with the meaning of ‘to be going to’. It must be followed by another verb. 他明天要去东京 。 Tā míngtiān yào qù dōngjīng. Lit. He tomorrow be going to go Tokyo. (He is going to Tokyo tomorrow)
