WELCOME to INTEGRATED SCIENCE ROOM 205 MR SPARKS

INTRODUCTION Welcome to Integrated Science!! We will lay the foundations for the study of life and physical sciences. The Integrated Science course is divided into 4 main sections: Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Ecology. Basic Physics will be taught during the 1 st quarter, basic Chemistry will be taught during the 2nd quarter, basic Biology will be taught during the 3 rd quarter and Basic Ecology will be taught during the 4 th quarter.

EVALUATION Class grading Students should expect a major test after every section and a semester final Tests– 40% Quizzes– 5% Classwork– 25% Labs– 20% Semester final – 10% EOC FINAL OR MAJOR ENERGY PROJECT— 10%

EVALUATION Letter Grades by percent A- 90-100 B- 80-89 C-70-79 D-60-69 Below 60—NOT SO GOOD Homework: A student’s homework consists of assignments that were not completed during class on the scheduled day.

STUDENT SUPPLY LIST Bring everyday Notebook Writing utensil (pencil preferred) Calculator (non-scientific is okay) Paper

KEYS TO SUCCESS INSTRUCTOR EXPECTATIONS: 1. Specific expectations for each student are as follows: RESPECT all others space, property, and opinions. Arrive with a positive attitude and PREPARED with all required material. Words, actions and demeanor must be appropriate for a safe learning environment. Work hard and follow directions. 2. Specific positive outcomes for each student are: Positive praise and daily points. Positive parent contact. Additional classroom privileges. 3. Negative behavior will have consequence: Initial verbal warning Individual student / teacher conference Parent contact After class and /or after school detention Referral to administration

KEYS TO SUCCESS Cell phones, tablets, or personal computers Are allowed in class. This is a privilege. Electronic etiquette is in effect. If they are on during the instructional period or you are searching a web site you should not be you will lose the privilege. No Food or Drinks in the classroom except water in clear bottles with a screw cap. Stay in seats until the bell rings
