FACTS ABOUT WALT DISNEY (December 5, 1901 – December 15, 1966) Walt Disney was an American entrepreneur, cartoonist, animator, voice actor, and film producer. He was a prominent figure within the American animation industry and throughout the world, and is regarded as a cultural icon, known for his influence and contributions to entertainment during the 20th century. He was an ambulance driver for Red Cross in WW1. Started his career in 1920. Started Disney Studios in 1923, in Kansas City, MO.

Mickey Mouse 1941 (Plane Crazy) On November 18, 1932, Disney received a special Academy Award for the creation of "Mickey Mouse“ The Disneys' first attempt at pregnancy ended in miscarriage. Lillian became pregnant again and gave birth to daughter Diane Marie Disney on December 18, 1933. FACTS ABOUT WALT DISNEY On a business trip to Chicago in the late-1940s, Disney drew sketches of his ideas for an amusement park where he envisioned his employees spending time with their children. On Sunday, July 17, 1955, Disneyland hosted a live TV preview, among the thousands of people in attendance wereRonald Reagan, Bob Cummings and Art Linkletter, who shared cohosting duties, as well as the mayor of Anaheim. FACTS ABOUT WALT DISNEY On November 30, Disney collapsed at his home. He was revived by fire department personnel and rushed to St. Joseph's. Disney's spokesperson said he was there for a "postoperative checkup". At 9:30am on December 15, 1966, ten days after his 65th birthday, Disney died of circulatory collapse, caused by lung cancer.
