13  Consumed 3 million barrels per day in 2009, up from about 1.2 million barrels per day in 1990.  Production - from 0.7 million barrels per day in 1990 to about 1 million barrels per day in 2009.  Recent findings of oil in Rajasthan by Cairn Energy.
