4 Plan Goals: Assist in recovering from the emotional impact in the immediate aftermath of the crisis Return to a state of equilibrium Impart through a plan a sense of hope and empowerment Plan to maintain balance after the crisis has passed Communicate the message that the victim is in control

5 Commit Commit to the plan to decrease the strains of the crisis and regain sense of equilibrium Additional follow up after the crisis important part

7 What is a Developmental Crisis?
The precipitating event of the crisis is part of the normal maturational process. When a person reaches a new stage of development his/her normal methods of coping are ineffective and new coping mechanisms need to be developed. For a time, the person is without effective coping and anxiety can increase.
