2. Mt Wellington Rugby was formed in 1959 and have been in a joint venture with Te Papapa Rugby for the last 9 years running Maungarua Rugby. For various reasons this had become an untenable venture and so it was decided in June 2015 to end the venture and become 2 separate Premier clubs. To this Mt Wellington Rugby embarked on extensive reviews of its operations and have employed a Director of Rugby along with an RDO to oversee and drive our rugby forward into the future. We have secured the services of Doug Sanft as head coach for 2016 who has set a recruitment plan in place which has seen ITM Cup and Heartland players now in training with us. This level of player and profile for the club will lift us to new heights and we are offering to yourselves the opportunity to come on board within the following partnership package. 3. MISSION STATEMENT Our objective at Mount Wellington Rugby Club is to be the number 1 sports club in the local and wider community for all age groups whilst promoting and working with local businesses and community groups

On Field: For the 2016 Season we will have Premier, Reserves, 20s plus Women’s grade and First Grade along with at least two presidents’ grade teams. We are also committed to working Via Our RDO to school programmes and reaching our goal of 9 junior teams fielded for 2016 season and beyond. The goals are the beginnings of a 3 year plan to take Mt Wellington to a championship contender in all levels.
