2. IMPORTANCE OF RHEOLOGY IN PHARMACY
The principles of rheology has a wide application in the formation and analysis of pharmaceutical products as emulsions, pastes, suppositories and tablet coating etc.
In pharmaceutical manufacturing operations:
Stirring of materials
Packaging of materials into the containers
Flow of emulsion through colloidal mill
Trituration of suspension in mortar and pestle
Flow of powder from hoppers into the die cavity
