The FA Charter Standard Club Programme Development Pathway AFFILIATED CLUBS FA Charter Standard Clubs (Youth) Feb 2001 FA Charter Standard Clubs (Adults) Jan 2003 FA Charter Standard Development Clubs launched Feb 2002 FA Charter Standard Community Clubs launched Dec 2002 36,000 clubs in the country FA Charter Standard provides a recognition programme for all clubs It is progressional It looks to raise standards in grassroots football

The FA Charter Standard Club Programme Criteria Adopt The FA Constitution Adopt The FA Child Protection Policy Appoint a Club Welfare Officer who has attended The FA Child Protection and Best Practice Workshop All volunteers to have submitted FA CRB checks All managers/coaches must have a Level 1 Coaching Certificate (FA Club Coach) Club representative must attend an in-service event every year Promote codes of conduct

The FA Charter Standard Adult Clubs FA Constitution Insurance Promote Code of Conduct First Aid qualified person with every team Commitment to in-service training

The FA Charter Standard Development Club Club development plan Club vision Club development table Team development Workforce development (volunteers and coaches) School-Club Links Communication and marketing Five teams (four separate sections) At least one manager qualified to Level 2 Coaching Certificate level Club representative must attend two in-service training days

The FA Charter Standard Community Club Must meet criteria of other FA Charter Standard awards Minimum ten teams (to include male & female) Youth to adult Mini Soccer teams All adult teams must have a qualified first aider All youth teams need a qualified coach Schools liaison officer Volunteer co-ordinator

The FA Charter Standard Club Programme 3 – 5 year Football Development Plan Club vision Club development table Team development Workforce development (volunteers, coaches, referees) School-Club Links Links with girls’ / women's football (or boys’ / male football) Football for disabled people Exit routes Communication and marketing
