EVALUATION AND COOKING Once the recipes have been swapped, ask for student feedback and try cooking it in the classroom. A video can be sent to your partner school with a narration of the activity.

Recipe 1: Watermelon Smoothie You will need: 2 cups seeded watermelon chunks 1 cup crushed ice 1/2 cup low fat plain yogurt 1 tablespoon sugar 1/2 teaspoon ground gingers 1/8 teaspoon almond extract Directions: Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth.

Recipe 2: WatermelonWaldroft Salad You will need: 2 cups seeded watermelon chunks 1/2 cup diced celery 1/2 cup seedless grape halves 1/4 cup low fat plain yogurt 2 tablespoons sliced almonds* toasted Directions: In a mixing bowl, combine watermelon, celery, and grapes. Just before serving, add yogurt; stir to coat. Sprinkle with almonds.

Students talked about how to follow the recipe given by Unison World School. Students were divided into two groups. The first group made the Waldroft Salad and the second group did the smoothie.

Students prepared the ingredients for both recipes.
