5 R ECOMMENDED O PTION O PTION #3: R EQUIRE INDIVIDUAL RISK ASSESSMENT AT COURT LEVEL Amend National Criminal Codes to require the production of, and the consideration by courts of, individual risk assessment reports of a criminal’s chances of reoffending Include strategic indicators of crime Focuses resources on individuals that are more violent or more likely to be violent offenders Spares resources currently spent on non-violent individuals largely comprised of misdemeanors
