2 ISLO-1: Knowledge of Human Cultures and the Physical and Natural World ISLO Mapping  College wide- 225 outcomes support ISLO-1  Primarily instructional areas supported this outcome ISLO Survey Results  No questions in the Spring 2015 ISLO survey addressed this ISLO Miramar College Outcomes and Assessment Facilitator

3 ISLO-2: Intellectual and Practical Skills ISLO Mapping  College wide- 718 outcomes support ISLO-2  All areas (i.e. instruction, student services, administrative services) supported this outcome ISLO Survey Results  Survey questions related to this ISLO addressed the outcomes of Communication, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving, and Information Literacy  Communication: The majority of the respondents (72%) felt that the courses taken at Miramar College had improved their communication skills.  Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: More than half of the respondents (60%) felt that courses taken at Miramar College increased their understanding and ability to use mathematical concepts. The majority of respondents (74%) felt that course work enabled them to understand and use problem-solving strategies and critical thinking in their everyday life.  Information Literacy: The majority of respondents (69%) felt that they have developed technology skills during their time at Miramar College. 5 ISLO Survey: Critical Thinking and Problem Solving Miramar College Office of Planning, Research & Institutional Effectiveness Q10: The courses I have taken at Miramar College have helped me understand and use mathematical concepts in my everyday life. Q11: The courses I have taken at Miramar College have helped me understand and use problem-solving strategies and critical thinking in my everyday life. Q12: I have completed a course where information was presented to me and I had to analyze the information for content or purpose. Q13: In class, I have used evidence to reinforce a conclusion on a particular topic. Q14: I understand the methodical steps of critical thinking used to develop a logical conclusion. Q15: The use of interviews and/or observations was required in one or more of my courses.

7 ISLO-3: Personal and Social Responsibility ISLO Mapping  College wide- 375 outcomes support ISLO-3  Proportionally higher levels of student services and administrative service outcomes supported this outcome. ISLO Survey Results  Survey questions related to this ISLO addressed the outcomes Intercultural Knowledge and Competence  The majority of the respondents (##) felt that courses at Miramar had encouraged them to understand, respect and converse about the viewpoints, values, or customs of other world cultures  More than half of the respondents (54%) attended events or activities that had increased their understanding of other cultures, values, and customs.
