What is an Enterprise Architecture Practice? It is the strategic planning, governance, and innovation to enable an organization to progress towards its vision of a future state. Architects capture and analyze business strategies and processes, information, applications, infrastructure, security and their inter-relationships. Architecture both influences and guides the formulation of business and IT strategy resulting in a comprehensive roadmap across business and technology domains.

Steps involved in an EA Practice

What areas does EA address? Redundant or even conflicting efforts can arise from approaches that are not coordinated across the enterprise. The EA program should itself be a model of good architecture. It is very difficult to measure progress, articulate value to stakeholders and drive desired behavior without clear and meaningful metrics in place. Without a clear business tie-in, EA is relegated to an information technology improvement activity and will have relatively minimal impact on the organization. EA strategy allows to guide project and program portfolio development

Benefits of an EA Practice Enables corporate initiatives through its leadership in delivering agile, global solutions that are aligned with the enterprise’s strategic direction. Allows us to build a mature EA practice and become trusted advisors to senior management as a business partner in the business-led/technology-enabled enterprise.
