1. INSTRUCTIONS  Slides 2 to 6 provide students with examples and explanation on the use of the present continuous.  On slide 9, give students 3 minutes to memorize the picture. Divide the class into two groups.  Slides 10 to 19 – have students read the hints and come up with an affirmative or negative sentence according to the image they have memorized. 3. They are doing chores. This is the present continuous form. We use the present continuous to talk about activities / actions that are happening now, at this moment.

4. Present continuous - affirmative subject + verb to be + verb-ing + complement The mother is making her bed. They are doing chores.

5. subject + verb to be + not + verb-ing The brother isn’t studying now. The parents aren’t working now. Present continuous - negative

6. verb to be + subject + verb-ing + complement Is the sister watching TV? Are the parents sleeping? Present continuous - questions
