Introduction Hematopoietic and immune systems share their origins in bone marrow, where cells of both systems originate from a common pluripotential stem cells. Information obtained from previous problems (infection & immunity, inflammation, neoplasia, asthma, pulmonary embolism) shall constitute the foundation on which the five cases each of hematological and immunological diseases will be based. This unit is divided to: – 5 weeks heme – 5 weeks immune

No more anatomy (YEEEY! ) You will study anatomy only in two problems (2 and 7: Anatomy and Histology of Spleen, Thymus and Lymph nodes). Pharmacology Pharmacology: – Heme: Dr. Squera has been replaced by Dr. Khalid Jassim. You can study from my notes (in addition to Dr. Khalid slides). – Immune: Dr.Henry James. My notes are more than enough. Biochemistry Biochemistry: slides only (don’t waste your time reading Lippincotts or other learning resources). Microbiology Microbiology: – You can study from Levinson’s. – Slides and labs are very important. Physiology (Prof. Miftahof ): Physiology (Prof. Miftahof ): – Don’t worry.. You will study physiology only in three problems (1, 3 and 4). – You will understand nothing from Dr. Miftahof slides. – Best resource: Guyton textbook + my notes. Clinical Clinical: slides only.
