5 Accessing NCCCIP Today we are using the Training database What happens in Training, stays in Training – cciptest.schools.nc.gov/training To start application process in Production (not Training) – You must have a valid NCID user account – You must have an account set up in CCIP* Once accessed, create a bookmark for the NCCCIP application http://ccip.schools.nc.gov/ * LEA personnel must contact User Access Administrators for account set-up CCIP Training Module 15

6 NCCCIP Home Page CCIP Training Module 26 To log in, click on the gray box that says “NCCCIP Sign In”

7 NCCCIP Sign In Enter your NCID User ID and NCID Password and click Submit. – For today’s training, you will NOT be using your NCID; you will be given a login to practice entering data CCIP Training Module 27

9 Create User User Access Administrators Only: Click Administer, then User Access from the left hand menu. CCIP Training Module 19

10 Create User The User Access page allows you to modify roles for existing users and create new users. To create a new user click the Create User link. CCIP Training Module 110

11 Create User Enter all appropriate information and click the Create button. CCIP Training Module 111

12 New User Email The new user will receive a confirmation email once their login has been added to the system. CCIP Training Module 112

13 Administer Roles A user that has been assigned no roles is considered inactive. You can never delete a user, just delete the roles associated with them. Click the Create Role link to provide system access to the selected user. CCIP Training Module 113

14 CCIP Training Module 114 NCCCIP Roles Role NameDescription User Access Administrator Allows the user to create, update, and delete users/roles for an organization. This role does not give the user any access to edit the Funding Application or Planning Tool. Data ViewAllows the user to view unapproved Funding Applications for an organization. This would be an appropriate role for the Homeless Liaison. “Look, but don’t touch” Data EntryAllows the user to edit the Funding Application for an organization. Planning Tool Data Entry Allows the user to edit the Active Plan for an organization. Fiscal Representative Allows the user to mark an application Fiscal Representative Approved and inherits all permissions from the Data Entry role. Chief Administrator Allows the user to mark an application Chief Administrator Approved and inherits all permissions from the Data Entry role. Only role that can copy a Plan forward.

16 Administer Roles Once a role has been added you will be redirected to the Administer Roles page, displaying all of the selected user’s roles. To remove a role, click the trash can icon directly right of the role. To add additional roles, repeat steps from previous slides. CCIP Training Module 116

17 Modify Existing User To modify an existing user, fill in at least one of the search criteria boxes, and click the Search button. To modify one of the search results click on the Edit link under the Administer Roles column next to the appropriate user. CCIP Training Module 117

18 Activity Create a new user account and assign roles 1.Log into the system with your Training credentials. Org#_train, e.g. A47_train. Password is any letter, number, symbol. 2.Create a new CCIP user. – For NCID use “Yourname_test” ex: “JohnDoe_test”. (FYI - the Training database does NOT validate against NCID) – Use your actual email address – Assign the user the roles of Data Entry & Treasurer 3.Search for your new user through the User Access screen and delete their role of Treasurer.
