8 GOAL FOUR: Provide chronic disease prevention and management services to all Educare household members and staff Screening: health behavior questionnaire, BMI, BP, A1c, lipids 80% of Educare adults overweight or obese. >33% of Educare adults: Elevated blood pressure High cholesterol Pre-diabetes or diabetes Schweitzer Fellow: CDC Diabetes Prevention Program Health Literacy Education in Action.

9 EFHP EVALUATION Tracking all 4 project goals and starting to compare health data after year one and year two Challenges Not all participating adults complete health screenings High turnover of families Difficult to determine which interventions are most effective to improve health Outcomes? Increased healthy behaviors vs change in BMI, BP, A1c Summer 2016 evaluation by OSU COM comparing Tulsa Educare families to control group of OKC Educare families

10 EFHP CONCLUSION Creating a culture of health among Educare families and staff can lead to improved educational and health outcomes for early childhood students Evaluation will help us figure out which interventions have the biggest impact and should be replicated at other early childhood education programs
