The angle formed by a horizontal line and a line of sight to an object above the horizontal line. You can use the angle of elevation as the acute angles of right triangles formed by horizontal distance and vertical height. To tell if it is an angle of elevation place your finger on the vertex of the angle, trace a long the non horizontal line of the angle – if you finger is above the vertex it is elevation.
