3. Synopsis
The novel featuring Harry Potter, a young wizard. It describes how Harry discovers he is a wizard, makes close friends and a few enemies at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
With the help of his friends, Harry thwarts an attempted comeback by the dark wizard Lord Voldemort, who killed Harry's parents, but failed to kill Harry, when Harry was just one year old.

Cindy: Edison, have you watched the movie `Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone? Edison: You mean they've produced a movie based on the first `Harry Potter' novel? Cindy: Yes. It's so captivating. Edison: Really? I've not even read the book yet, but I think I'll watch it after school today. Tell me more about it, please.

22. Cindy: Well, it's about the adventures of a young wizard called Harry Potter. Edison: Young wizard? You mean there's magic as well as dragons and witches? Cindy: Yes, you're right. Harry's parents are killed by the evil Lord Voldermort when he is still an infant. Lord Voldemort also tries to kill Harry but fails, leaving him unharmed except for a well-known scar on his forehead. Harry is destined to be a wizard just like his parents when he grows up. Edison: Wow! That's cool!

23. Cindy: However, after his parents' death, he lives with his horrible Uncle Vernon, Aunty Petunia and their mischievous son, Dudley, who mistreat him. Edison: That's so mean of them. Cindy : I agree. Anyway, on his 12th birthday, letters magically arrive from Hogwarts School of Wizardry and Witchcraft, telling Harry that he has been accepted as a student there. However, his uncle and aunt try to stop him from going to Hogwarts.
