Final remarks and Conclusions Index Methodology Bibliometrics as a research Field FindingsGeneral objective
3
The objective of this paper is to characterize through bibliometric tools the intellectual development of the Journal of Business Ethics from 2001 to 2010.
4
Bibliometrics as a research Field The purpose of Bibliometrics is to describe literary production, patterns of influence and the cognitive structure in a given field – e.g. authors, journals, countries, core themes and collaboration between authors. These techniques have been proved to overcome some obstacles of distortion related to the subjectivity in assessments (Aksnes & Taxt, 2004) using reliable data and quantitative analysis to described and map some external and internal properties of a scientific field (Estabrooks et al., 2004).
5
Methodology Three methodology phases were used to achieve the research objectives: (i) The collection of relevant information from ISI (SCCI) data bases. (ii) the transformation of information using software designed to assist analysis of bibliometric data. (iii) the results generation. 26232045

Final remarks and Conclusions The co-occurrence analysis can propose influential terms and theories about a specific phenomenon under study that can be use to make the research process more efficient. Latin American and African countries need to be more proactive on the research on the topics studied in the journal. In these countries the corruption is one of the most problematic factors for doing business. The results indicate that major key topics studied are corporate social responsibility, ethics and stakeholder; and some important emergent topics are job satisfaction, value based management, innovation and social network.
