Assignment brief In this is assignment I have been given a scenario, in which I work as an consultant for an IT company that specialises in maintaining technology systems. For this scenario, a ‘client’ manages a small company with employees who use technology systems. They have found a few technical problems. Before the ‘client’ decides whether to buy a brand new system, they would like some advice from me about repairing and maintaining the existing system. In this PowerPoint I will explain the benefits of installing and maintaining hardware in at least two different technology systems.
3
What is a technology system
Technology systems can be referred to material objects of use to humanity. It is used by most organisations, but differ in various sectors, such as the health sector, or the manufacturing sector, depending on the type of organisation of which technology they may use. The Technology System can be used in different sectors of human life, currently, humans are using different types of technology systems in their life, which include computers, smart phones and iPads. These days, nearly all organisations use technology.
4
Factors to consider Cost of the software or hardware: An organisation needs to check the full cost of the software or hardware before installation. The full cost will be the cost of the licenses needed for all the computers plus the cost of setting up, training staff, and paying for any support and maintenance. Accessibility features: If these are important to the user, they should be checked to ensure they are included in the software before it is installed.
5
Uses of technology in different sectors
Health Sector Manufacturing sector
6
Uses in the health Sector
Diagnoses – Heart monitoring, x-rays, etc. Treatment - Restoring heart health, radiotherapy, etc. Body part replacement – Robotic arms, pacemaker, etc.
7
Uses in the manufacturing sector
Material removal – Turning, milling, tapping, etc. Material Forming – Bending, joining, grinding, etc. Additive process – Laser sintering, 3-D printing, etc. Tooling – Grinding wheels, clamps, drills, etc. Material Handling – Conveyor belts, robots, pallet changers, etc. Automated systems – Assembly systems, transfer machines, etc.
8
Benefits of installing/maintaining software: Health Sector
Better software available and can give more accurate results, or do its function more efficiently. Works faster
9
Reasons for maintaining software: Health Sector
Erroneous software can be extremely dangerous to patients and can injure them.
10
Benefits of installing/maintaining software : Manufacturing Sector
Working more efficiently Works faster Works more accurately Delivers more results than the hardware being used before.
11
Reasons for maintaining software: Manufacturing
Overuse can cause software data to become corrupted and cause malfunctions. New software is available, with additional features, improvements to performance, and better duration.
